1-to-1 Tailored online running Coaching

About Me

Hi, I’m Alex! I’m an independent online running coach and the founder of Runners Performance.

I’m currently in my third year at the University of Plymouth studying Physiotherapy, where I’m developing my understanding of human anatomy and physiology, injury rehab, and optimising athletic performance.

Outside of university, running is a huge part of my life. But I wasn’t always as passionate about running as I am today. Once I started to look into the science behind various training principles, and subsequently apply it to my training, it all started to click.

My goal is to help others discover that same joy and drive for improvement that running has brought to my life.

Qualifications:

  • England Athletics Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF)

  • Level 3 Sports Massage

  • Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport

  • Final-year Physiotherapy student (BSc Hons)

Personal Bests:

  • 5km – 18:14

  • 10km – 38:42

  • Half Marathon – 1:27:23

  • Marathon – 3:09:21

Why me as your coach?

In recent years, AI coaching platforms have surged in popularity, and while they can be useful, they often lack one crucial element: human connection!

What happens when life gets in the way? What if a session needs adjusting? What’s the best way to do this effectively?

That’s exactly where I come in. I offer real communication, flexible planning, and a personalised approach that’s built on understanding you as a person, not just your data.

We’ll work together to build a plan that fits your life and helps you get the most out of your running.

what I offer

  • Training plans will be delivered to you via Final Surge. Training will be set and adjusted a minimum of bi-weekly. This allows for me to adjust plans based on your current level and progress, whilst also giving you prior notice to prepare and plan training around your life.

  • You will have full access to communication with myself via Whatsapp. Here we can discuss any questions, queries or feedback you have. I will always encourage feedback to better understand how training is going for you and to help me inform my coaching decisions.

  • Based on my experience of training, running, and my physiotherapy studies, I can provide you with:

    • Strength and conditioning and cross‑training suggestions.

    • General fuelling advice for optimal training and racing performance.

    • Support with managing training loads and understanding common running injuries.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a qualified personal trainer, sports nutritionist, or HCPC‑registered physiotherapist (currently a student physiotherapist). Any guidance I offer regarding these areas is intended as general advice, based on my experience, research, and training. It should not replace medical advice or specialist instruction.
